To be released summer 2023:
Waking up to Thrutopia: a hybrid collection of poetry and flash lyric essay in three parts:
Part one takes you through a personal journey shaped by trauma and loss, exploring how past affects present. Personal trauma mirrors collective trauma, and Thrutopia might seem out of reach.
In part two I attempt to elucidate the healing process. Hard questions are asked as the tender rebellion against the status quo begins to take shape.
The final part foreshadows, warns, hopes, plans. It’s easy to get things wrong, but we must try to change our destiny by coming to terms with our true nature.
This book is inspired by “Thrutopia”, a concept coined by ecological philosopher and green activist Rupert Read in an article in the Huffington Post UK.
In 2021 I compiled a chapbook of golden shovel poems inspired by the poetry of Sylvia Plath.
